Is there any big problem with just putting your computer components in a fridge with manually drilled holes or am i just BSing here?

Take anything out of your freezer and notice the condensation formation. Drilling holes in it only ruins the fridge..

You'd be better advised to install a phase-change unit, which is basically a fridge's innards - compressor and so on - and even then you have to worry about stuff like dielectric grease, &c &c.

Big can of worms, basically. Watercooling works well enough, and so does a TEC if you're not too fussed about efficiency.

Plus the compressor on a fridge is not designed to handle the amount of constant heat a pc puts out. You will fry the compressor within 2 months, and probably your system too.

Nah, if you want to play with phase-change, a fridge unit is a good way to start, but as ouch1 stated, it won't be able to put up with the constant heat output. A fridge under normal operation switches the compressor on and off as it needs to.

It'll work, just not for long, and it'll probably be expensive when it stops.

If you want to go phase change just go buy a Vapochill unit. They are pricey but will cool you cpu to well below freezing.
