Hi guys,
I have a MSI 970A-G46 motherboard that I've been using to overclock my phenom II x6 1100T. I was able to get an overclock stable at 3.8ghz and then went for a 3.9. I had the voltages highest at 1.48 (I read 1.45 should be highest for that motherboard) but was unstable. After many attempts of getting a stable 3.9 clock, I gave up and went back to my stable 3.8 ghz clock which had a cpu v of 1.45v. Everything booted up, but when I stress tested on Aida95 (Small tff's) The screen went black and my computer shut off. I think I always got a bsod when I had an unstable clock, but for some reason it just shut down that time. When I turned it on again, it would start up, but after half a second shutdown, then try again. It would do this until I unplugged it. (power button had no effect). I took the battery out, unplugged the power supply from the motherboard, and let it sit for over 12 hours. When I plugged everything back in, it spazz restarted about 7 times, but then it stayed on. I didn't know if it was working because I had removed my graphics card, hard drives, etc. So I slapped in an old sparkle graphics card that didn't require additional power. I turned it on and I got nothing. Fans spin, motherboard indicates the CPU is in phase 4, but my screen is black. Also, I have to unplug the powersupply because power button doesn't work still. I'm hoping I didn't fry my vrm? Or could it be my CPU? I actually have the exact same motherboard on a different computer, so if you need me to, I could test my cpu on it.
Thanks guys.

Well I slapped my phenom II into the other computer and worked swell. I got it into bios, then shut down because I had a heatsink on it without thermal paste. I Guess now I'll test it with the other comp's PSU?

EDIT: PSU from other computer didn't fix the problem. I also tried different graphics card that didn't require add. power and it still didn't work. So I guess this means it's the mobo?
