Fried motherboard, help.

Hi guys,
I have an AsRock 990fx extreme3 with a fx 8320. I had this computer for two weeks now but my motherboard has suddenly fried and is burned black on the backside, just beside the vrm. Is there any one who knows what cause this and if my cpu is still allive?

sounds like a bad mb. if the vrm fried i would rma both parts for safty. without a working mb you cant tell if the cpu took a hit.
