My friends old laptop's motherboard has fried, and as a project, I am looking to replace the motherboard. It is the Asus K52JE laptop, and I have come across various MB versions based off of the K52 start number. I'm not certain about if the various versions are compatible and which may be a good cheap alternative to add into the computer. I'm seeing used motherboards ranging 20-30 euros which may be worth it. Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello so the only thing I would say is make sure you get the type that you had right now, what I mean by that did the og one come with a dedicated GPU or it used the iGPU, because if you get the one with the dedicated gpu and the one before didn't, you will need to replace the heat sink to get the version that also cools the GPU. Everything fit and worked but dell must of changed something with the screen setup that...

Just go over the models and see there specification but if it looks like nothing major has changed go for it.
