would this build be better than this? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3WG2TB

The only component that's of higher quality is the psu.

Ryzen 2200G gives about the same performance as 8100 when overclocked [taken care by preset mobo oc profiles in bios]

Rx570 is more powerful than the 1050ti.

Bigger ssd like drive possible with AMD StoreMI.

CX 550 2017 more than enough for this build.

Much better case with room to upgrade.

i dont think he will put much in storage he will upgrade later
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CWsssZ what about this?

If you really want 8100 cpu and gtx 1050ti gpu, that build is good. Maybe an atx mobo would be better. But otherwise good.

But like you saw, the 2200G offer better cpu performance cuz it can overclock and the Rx570 is a much powerful gpu than the 1050ti. So I don't know why you are sticking with the intel/Nvidia combo.

The only use case where it is indeed worth it is in high end builds.

according to what you recommended and my friend likes the h500 because it looks cool and it is all steel construction I chose 2 red led fans with rpm adjustability and 2200g + 570 rx i also increased storage tell me if there is still something wrong or needs to be changed https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CkTq7W

Changed to faster ram :

120gb ssd ain't worth it. Barely holds win10 plus 2 aaa game. So invest in a 1tb hdd and use AMD StoreMI till your friend can get a 250gb/500gb ssd.

Well hold on, I would say a 128 SSD is worth it for over all system response, however your friend would need to know to install games to the secondary drive (using your 128/500HD build). Windows 10 install will take up only roughly 50-60 GB leaving a good 40ish (after formatting) free to install say random applications. It doesn't sound like your friend will be upgrading his machine much if your doing it for him so having an SSD off the bat will help specially on windows updates.

i think he will upgrade on christmas and maybe every 2 or 1 years or so but I will ask him some questions

Well it also easy to clone a smaller drive to a larger on so you could get a small SSD then maybe in 6 months to year clone to a larger drive. However if he is thinking about upgrading basically a month or two after your initial build then it maybe better to go with Ryzen 2400G since it has 4 extra threads and a little faster than the 2200G. Then buy/install a new GPU for xmas so he could maybe upgrade to a AMD 580/GTX 1060 6GB just a thought.
