My friend is getting more fps than me with the same hardware, and i know he's not lying because i went there today...
I have this in almost any game, like BO3, PUBG, and ARK: Survival Evolved.
We both have a msi laptop with a clean windows 10 install.
My specs:

i7 6700hq
8Gb @2400 RAM
gtx1060 6Gb
120hz screen

My friends specs:

i7 7700hq
8Gb @2400 RAM
gtx 1060 3Gb (same core count as 6Gb variant)
120hz screen

I'm getting 90fps in BO3 on lowest settings, 80-90fps in PUBG lowest settings, and 50fps in ARK

My friend's getting 130fps in BO3 on high settings, 100-130fps in PUBG on lowest settings, and 60fps in ARK

Any help would be appreciated.

Remove any junk/bloatware from both computers, make sure GPU drivers are up to date and/or identical to each other and try again.

Also make sure power plans are equal aswell.

Do you know if that 8GB of RAM is running in dual channel or single channel? That can make a huge difference in FPS.

power plans are the same, all bloatware is removed and gou drivers are all up to date

the CPU's aren't that far apart fropm each other, those are cpu bound benchamrks, you should be looking at real world gaming performance, and that isnt't that far apart from each other

i have my GPU clocked stable at 2000Mhz never reaching 75c, his is at 1700Mhz

i don't see where you got those numbers from, our ram is exactly the same with same clocks

yeah but the performance difference is minimal, the only thing changed about kaby lake is slightly better power effiency, and a little higher clocks, 2 years says nothing, just look up benchmarks of the 6700hq and 7700hq, you won't find such a large difference as my fps difference describes

he hasn't fooled me, like i said, he is not lying because i went there litterally today, and i saw his settings and saw the fps myself.

I'm his buddy to show you proof of my performance (I didn't restart the game so its not 100% accurate). With MSI-Afterburner.

This is my laptop,

CPU: I7-7700hq
GPU: GTX 1060 3gb
RAM: DDR4-2400 8gb
SSD: 256GB
HDD: 1TB 7200rpm
Screen: 120hz 5ms 1080p

Optional info?: This laptops GPU is overclocked; Core clock offset + 200MHz VRAM Clock Offset +350MHz
