A friend of mine has his CPU legit going 100% when he plays games, his discord is at 10% usage in Task manager while mine is at 2.5%. After 5-10 min of playing a game, his PC just started freezing and he had to restart his PC and we tried to play again thinking it was nothing at all but after 5 min the same result. He hasnt cleaned his PC for 2-3 years! Btw he recently preinstalled his PC from scratch and before that he had no lags, he updated his drivers and Windows, still the same error.

Does he have to buy a new CPU or Clean his PC.

His PC specs:
i5-7400 3.00 GHz
1050 TI
8GB RAM
512GB SSD
1TB HDD

Solution
Hi. If your friend is having this problem, let's fix it. A solution that has worked for a lot, and for me, is to go in to msconfig, advanced and untick the box, and select the maximum amount of cores to work. This will increase the power and reduce the CPU usage.

He can download this application called QuickCPU were you can enable all cores and change the speed of how they work. When you download the app, unpark all cores, go into advanced settings, speed shift, and were it says minimum, maximum, and dedicated speed, put it at maximum. Such as: 4.00GHz, 4.50GHz etc...

Another thing could be disabling Superfetch and Prefetch in services. This can also be know as SysMain.

He can either download Avast Cleanup. To unlock all the features...

He can either download Avast Cleanup. To unlock all the features on the app, it will cost money. However, if you go on YouTube and search up Avast Cleanup Premium Keys, there are so many keys to get the full version for free. That's what I did. In the app, it will clean your PC, and will shut down any unnecessary apps.

If it's still to the worst, he needs to either reset his PC, or needs to upgrade his CPU. Maybe on i7 with 6 cores. It's all down to his preference.

Make sure you have a FULL virus can to remove any malwares. Malwares can serveraly take up CPU usage and slow down your PC.

I hope you and your friend resolve this issue and get back to gaming! :)
