Friend needs a CPU replacement

Hello everyone, recently my friend has gotten back into gaming on his dinosaur computer and I just happened to notice that his CPU is blown and it needs a replacement. Though he wants to upgrade his ram and GPU as well. If anyone knows replacements for the parts that would be great. Here are the specs that I know.

Dell
Inspiron 560
DDR3 1066mhz Ram 4 gigs
Pentium (R) Dual-Core CPUU E5400 @2.7GHz
64 bit operating system
Windows 10

UPDATE: He did call Dell and asked them for information about his computer and they said that his graphics card is 256MB but the box says 512. My friend is wanting to go to 1 gig however, last time he upgraded his computer and had over one gig of VRAM his computer wouldn't run. Dell also said his computer can't run more then four gigs of ram but when I looked at his specs I didn't see why he couldn't run atleast 6-8. The socket is a 775 so your limited to dual core processor which is gonna hold you back but the best cpu would be the Intel core duo extreme 6800 or the Intel duo e6700

You also have the Core 2 quad processors for the socket 775. The Q6600 is an example.

When I looked to see the type of GPU he had, windows said he had unknown graphics. So if someone knows a decent replacement that would be great.

Any type of Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad can work with that computer.

The GPU depends on the motherboard and the Power Supply. If the motherboard has a PCIE or AGP slot to put a discrete GPU, then you can put one in. However, you need to make sure the power supply can supply the necessary power for the GPU.

Hello , First update your bios to latest version then you can go ahead with intel core 2 quad processor , you can buy a GTX 750 ti which is not a power hungry card but performs good and psu should be above 350W+
