Friend upgrading ram

My friend has an i5 750 and it is paired with 4 gb of ram, is there a chance he could upgrade to 8gb? If so what type and speed would be needed? does it have to be the same as the first stick of ram? Motherboard might even affect it too right?

You will probably want to find another 4GB stick that is as generic as possible and runs at the same speed as the one already in there. Or just buy a 2x 4GB kit.

unless there is a slight chance your motherboard doesn't support it then you should be able to
