Question Friend used quite a bit of force on display to adjust it on VESA mount. Could the monitor be damaged?

I have my AOC monitor fastened to a VESA desk mount. All the joints are secure as I don't need to move it often. A friend of mine tried to tilt the monitor up using a good deal of force, enough to where the desk started to shake, along with creaks from the monitor. Is it possible the display or internals were damaged?

Sorry, this is a bit of an odd question, but it's a new monitor and this is mostly just for piece of mind. How durable are these LCD displays?

If any of it's internals were damaged you would know straight away. If it's working okay I wouldn't concern yourself about it, just make sure that your friend or anyone else doesn't do it again.

Thanks for easing my mind. If the monitor was damaged, what would I have seen, or what would the signs be?

You either wouldn't have seen anything at all (black screen) or the image would be affected in any number of ways (lines on screen, zig-zag pattern, strange colours etc.
