They currently are using a ~10 year old desktop that, as you can imagine, is SLOW AS HELL. All she and her family use their PC for is web browsing, videos, and the occasional flash game. I'm used to building gaming rings, so I'm pretty much going out on a limb when I ask, "Should I just be grabbing the cheapest parts I can find that have good reviews?"
I already compiled a list of everything but the HDD (don't know how big they want), case, and cd/dvd drive, but I just wanted to make sure I'm not overlooking anything.
This is what I have so far:
300W SeaSonic PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151085
4GB DDR3 1333 G.Skill RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231253
ASRock Z75 Pro3 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157304
Intel Celeron G530 Sandy 2.4Ghz - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116409
Total cost so far is $186 before shipping and tax. They just want to use their old CRT monitor and I have a spare VGA to DVI adapter, so no problems there.
Thanks ahead of time.
