Friends can hear my music through Curse chat

Hello all,

I have the A50 Astros gaming headset without the mixamp. Whenever I am in curse chat with a friend or group they can hear music I am listening to. Is this normal?

As funny as that would be, it would be rather annoying if I had to hear that from my friends side.

Question is, are they hearing your music through your mic or is the sound card transmitting it along with your audio through the audio chip. What sound card are you using? Sound blaster cards are notorious for this type of stuff.

Unless it is native on the board I do not use a sound blaster card, or any sound card for that matter. I use the Asus Z71-AB mobo? I don't believe it is transmitting through my microphone as that should pick up my music that well.
