[SOLVED] Friends PC Not Turning on

My Friend Just Built his pc yestaday and an hour ago It cut out and wouldn't turn back on
His board is asus m5a97 le r2.0 and he has a 500w psu
the rest of his specs are in the pic

I'm guessing it was built with used parts as everything in that list is several years old. Whats the make and model of the PSU?

That's a horrible PSU and likely the problem, hopefully it didn't take any of the other parts with it.

my friend tried plugging his old 550w psu and it work but the 4 pin cable melted on his old build and we want to know if its safe without 4 pin

Sounds like your friend needs to buy a new PSU.

That's just as horrible as the PSU that failed. The PSU is crucial and a very bad place to skimp on quality.
