Over the past few weeks me and my friends have been playing on a minecraft server that I had been hosting from my computer via port forwarding. Today they were able to see my server on the browser, but unable connect to it. They told me that they saw a "logging in" screen for about 15 or 30 seconds and were then disconnected with the timed out error. I'm unsure if it's my problem or my ISP's problem. Does anyone have any advice? If so, thanks in the future! :)

Hey, thanks for replying! To let my friends connect to me, I would use portchecker.co and canyouseeme.org to obtain my public IP address. it has been the same the whole time

Clearly something changed. It is possible that your ISP is blocking the port you were using. Is it possible to change to a different port (sorry, don't know much about Minecraft)? It is also possible that your computer firewall saw the traffic on that port and closed it.

You can try to look at firewall logs on your computer and/or router to see if you see incoming requests being blocked. The alternative is to use a port scanning app (ex. nmap ... I know of it, but have never used it. Maybe someone here has a recommendation) from inside and outside your lan to see where/if things are being blocked.

A crude (but easy) alternative is to have a friend come over with his computer and try to connect to your server from inside your LAN.

Hey, thanks for replying! I researched some things online and found that fortunately, I can change the port i'm hosting on simply by editing a config file. I forgot to say that I used several port checking websites to verify that I was forwarded correctly, including portchecker.co and canyouseeme.org. I might be wrong, but I don't think that changing the port would fix it. Anyways, thanks mentioning checking the firewall logs, that thought never crossed my mind! If I see anything, I'll let you know.
