From a PC Gamer's standpoint it's worth getting a PS3 this late?

Hi , lately I've wondering about buying a PS3 since I've missed some console only multiplats and the exclusives by having a Gaming PC and a Nintendo Wii.
The 360 is also a good choice since it can be modded and an extra controller for my pc would come in handy. But the PS3 has the best exclusives out of the 2 consoles and overall it's much more popular where I live than the 360 which would be better for online gaming and trading games.

Here's my doubt : Even if my rig is not top of the line , it's more powerful than the PS4 already. I've playing console ports in 1440p or more most of the time , hitting 60 FPS. In other words , I've been spoiled. So... won't consoles be a dissapointment? There aren't any games that I've REALLY wanted to play , but i reckon there are 20 or 30 cool games I am not able to play right now.
So would it be a good choice spending say 500/ 600 USD in an old console and games or would it be better to save that money to upgrade my rig? I don't need to upgrade right now but in a couple of years with that money you will be able to build a beast of a rig if you keep some spare parts.

I don't know how you would spend 500-600 on an old console and old games... Play them and sell them. Or play the cheapest ones first and then prices will drop on the newer ones. Gaming is gaming, I play games on whatever I can. If it happens to be NES, I play on NES. I don't think its a waste at all.

Keep in mind PS4 supports PS3 games. If you wanted to get into consoles, you'd be having the same issue in 2 years as you're having now. You have a PS3 but there are some cool PS4 exclusives, so should you spend $300 on a new console.

There's a $200 difference between PS3 and 4. It's all up to how much you value those games. Obviously you've been thinking about it, so it must be of some importance.

Um, as far as I am aware the PS4 is NOT backwards compatable. I too have been looking at getting a PS3 for the same reason, the exclusives. I personally wouldn't spend more than $150 for the console itself, but thats my issue. I still enjoy going back and playing old games, even if they don't have the graphics that new ones do. So long as they are fun to play or tell a good story, thats all I really need.

Yes But The Prices For PlayStaion Now Is Over Priced As Sh*t.
I Say Yes If You Can Find One Cheap.
It Has Great Exclusives Like Ratchet And Clank,Sly Cooper,Uncharted,Little Big Planet And Many More My Fave Is inFamous Series Really Epic And Fun.

Sure. I'd buy a PS3. It's cheap. Games are cheap... cos people are getting rid of their libraries to buy PS4 games.
By the time you're done with all those PS3 games you bought, the PS4 has a big enough library for you to choose from.
