Basiclly the title.I will use the pc for gaming. Is the upgrade worth? The gpu will be GTX 1050 or RX560. Thanks!

Sadly I don't think so.

Basically a new platform will be a better choice, an a huge bump in FPS, if budget allows it, something like the following can also be upgraded in the future:

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ykLvr6

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.2 GHz 6-Core Processor ($99.14 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($70.88 @ OutletPC)
Memory: G.Skill Flare X 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($63.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $234.01
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

You could save 35 bucks, give or take, by going with only 1 x 8GB stick and get the exact stick later on for dual channel setup (not recommended, but is posible).

I would personally have recommend the Ryzen 5 2600 for $120 and the Asrock B450M Pro 4 which is a better board overall for overclocking or the 12core 3900x and is usually on sale for $70 at amazon and newegg or $80 otherwise.

np with that, I just choose the cheaper option (R5 1600) and my mobo pick is because I know that Gigabyte board and it does the job fine up to an R7 3700X.
But yeah if the Asrock has a better VRM then thats the way to go. I doubt OP will buy a R9 3900X later on, but who knows right ?

Cheers!!!
