From laptop to desktop

Hi folks, so I have an old hp pavilion dv7 3188 laptop which over heats often, has a flickering issue with screen and a busted keyboard. I intend detaching the screen and the keyboard for good, vinyl wrap the body and with external peripherals turn it into a desktop. Now this laptop exposes the motherboard under the keyboard, so if I glue two pc case fans instead of the keyboard would it be beneficial?

it would surely help with thermals, but they wil also push dust inside, maybe you could take of the backplate and drill a bunch of tiny holes in it to help with airflow?

i plan on adding them as exhausts, and getting in from behind may not do much as it is one of those old laptops that had mother board access through the keyboard rather than the back panel.

If you use them as exhaust rather than intake it would be perfect

i think it should work pretty well, mind posting some results after your ghettomod is done?
