Hi,

A friend of ours fixed my computer one time, but installed a pirated windows 7, which worked fine but over the long run my computer got really slow and I think it's because of the pirated windows. Now I got an activiation key gof a legitimate, but I don't have an installation CD. Anyone that has an idea how I can reinstall to the legitimate now?

Solution
I would not update the serial number because like you said you do not know whats running in the background.

1. get a fresh copy of a windows 7 cd or iso and make it bootable with rufus.
2, during install use your key to legitimately unlock it.

note: you need to get the same "copy" of windows model as the key is designed for... ie a Windows 7 Home will not unlock a Windows 7 pro

PS: you can get a legitimate copy of windows 7 iso from Microsoft web site

Thank you! Do you know if I can also download the ISO through an external harddrive? I don't have an USB with a lot of GB, but I have a 1TB external hard drive :)
