Hey guys,

I decided to upgrade my system. I want to get the best performance at 1080p 144hz. My main game is PUBG. I know the overclocking 9600K is much easier than the 3600x that's why 9600k may give me higher FPS in games. So which one is going to be worth for gaming ?

My Specs:
  • MSI Gaming Z RTX 2060
  • R5 1600 @3.6Ghz with a stock cooler
  • MSI B350 Gaming Pro Carbon
  • Corsair Vengeance lpx DDR4 cl16 @3200Mhz .
  • Seasonic FOCUS PLUS 650W 80+ Gold
Spec1
  • Intel 9600K
  • MSI Z390 Tomahawk
Spec 2
  • Ryzen 3600x
  • MSI X570 Gaming Edge Wifi

No, you dont need a liquid cooler. The Wraith Spire cooler on the 3600x is pretty decent.

Again, go with what you have and what the 3600x has, if your not happy with performance, then you can look at getting new board or better cooling. The nice thing about your platform, is you can upgrade it instead of having to buy a new mobo and CPU.
I would go with the 3600x all the way. Performance is about the same between the two, and the 3600x has twice the number of theads. You dont need to overclock the 3600x. The single core turbo will net better than the all core boost. I also would not go with a x570 board. You really dont need to spend that much. You wont be able to take advantage of the new features and the x570 wont have any impact over your fps than a x470 or b450 board would.

Excluding PUBG, the 3600x would be better overall.
Plus, you already have an AM4 mobo - update that bios and slap one in! Why spend more for a new cpu and mobo = 9600k?

The reason for excluding PUBG is because neither cpu with make a darn bit of difference with that game.
It was coded by lazy programmers, and not even high end PCs run it very well.
Not a good game to base overall performance over.

Thank you for your response.
People are having overheating issue with B350 mobos. That's why i decided to go with x570 buy i may try.

I was going to get x470 but MSI x570 is giving Cooler Master ML240L Rgb as a gift and it makes it same price with x470.
