Front Audio Header Installation

So I don't have a clue how to connect the cables from the front audio header to the motherboard's pins.

So,here it can be seen that I have only 5 cables,8 if we put the 'wierd' one (you will see soon),when my motherboard has 9 pins.

So i have Ear L(left) and Ear R(right) which are the Cyan Cable and the White cable

The wierd one is this. The Ear L and Ear R somehow splits at the head and i have 2 Ear L's and 2 Ear R's.

Two GND,which i don't know what it means, both black colored.

Here's another one extended 'wierd' cable,the MIC IN,yellow cable,splits at the head in two. Both cables are MIC IN.

So here are the instructions from Gigabyte's guide. The descriptions don't match the cables that i have.Surely they are just called different but are the same cables.

Here's the audio port of the motherboard. Sorry for the really poor amateur photos but I really don't have much else.
If someone,please,could explain in which pin do the cables go,i would be in your debt. and/or maybe explain to me how does it work.

i suggest you list what motherboard you have brand and model. also you need to show us all of the cables together as its hard to see by your photos what is what. a list of what they say would also be nice. listing what case you have would also be helpful in case there is a manual for it.

Motherboard model : Gigabyte GA-B85-HD 3
Idk what else to say about the cables but I will list them :
So
1 - 1 Ear R cables (it splits at the end in two),white colored
1 - 1 Ear L cables(it splits at the end in two as well),cyan colored
2 GND cables,black colored
1 - 1 MIC IN cables(it splits at the end as well),yellow colored

8 Cables and 9 pins on the motherboard.I showed the user's guide front audio header installation but the names of the cables don't match.


The case it's very old,it's says just Delux,Powered by Asus . Searched their site,it's not there.PC Case was bought from a friend as well so there isn't really a method I can give my PC Case full name. I doubt,even if i gave the name,it will be foundable on the market/google.

based on what you've said... it looks like your case might have ac97 audio front panel connectors.

it looks that your motherboard doesnt have complete support for ac97 front panel audio and only accepts 5 cables. L out, R out, Mic, Mic Power and GND. if not labeled i'd presume the audio out would be the conectors with an arrows. mic and mic power shouldnt be hard to find. as for which ground cable to use, not sure there.

a better idea which would give you full functionality would be to use a front bay device which adds a microphone and headphone jack and connects with a hd audio plug (ignoring ac97 on your case completely). they are fairly inexpensive.

basically something with a hd-audio plug and the mic/headphone jack on it (you can get devices which give you more functions than just that as well) that you can use instead of your case connectors.

My usb front panel works so I can simply buy a usb sound card which is at the same price range.
