Front audio jack issues

I have an issue when I plug my headphones into the front jack as the audio often only comes through the right earphone. I've tried many things to sort it out over the past few months but none have worked. I would be very grateful for any assistance you guys could give me.

First my setup has a Asus X370-pro MoBo with Realtek Audio in a Fractal Design Meshify C case.

I've tried multiple headphones so I know they aren't the issue.

I have a Denon PMA-720AE amplifier connected to the rear port.

Cleaning the port does not seem to help.

Reinstalling the Realtek drivers did not help, and I've checked all the other settings I can think of.

When I wriggle the connector I can often get stereo audio again.

Restarting my computer does not help however turning the power off to it does as I get stereo audio after a full power off and restart, though this stops after I restart it again.

Any ideas would be brilliant as it is getting quite annoying now. Thx!

Solution
This: "When I wriggle the connector I can often get stereo audio again."

My thought is a bad physical connection somewhere. Stereo is okay when port is cold or cool but once the computer heats up, connectivity suffers.

Have you opened the case (power off, unplug) and checked inside. Look for loose wires, anything touching or close to the audio connector socket(s)?

Take a look in the case and see what you can find.

Solution
I'd say it's definitely an issue with the jack itself, either internal damage, or it's just poorly soldered and doesn't make good contact.
If you know your ways around electronics, you may be able to fix it, otherwise, just get an audio drive bay to replace it (lookup "hd audio panel" on ebay, there are 3.5" ones for floppy bays, and 5.25" ones for cd/dvd bays, you should preferably go with the first if your case has one), overall, they're very affordable and easy to install.
