First off, let me say I really didnt know where to post this question, so forgive me please for posting in the wrong area.
I have a pair of brand new Logitech G230 headphones for what I use on my PC. They are a cheap $40 pair of headphones. I purchased them because my Turtle Beach x12's ($140) were causing a LOT of static when I was talking. It was unbearable for anyone I was talking to.
With the new purchase, no static. Or so I think.
However, while messing around with my recording devices and playback devices in my sounds panel, I notice when I click listen to this device, there is a TON of static coming through when its plugged in to the FRONT audio ports. (note: capitalization is only for emphasis. dont take it as douc*ey).
I plugged them into the back audio and microphone ports on my PC, and so far, no static when I listen to the device. If any, its extremely minimal.
The catch!!! I cannot hear certain aspect of things I am playing on my PC. For instance, I can hear myself test the microphone, but not my video games. I can hear other people talking, but not audio from internet pages. I can hear spotify as well.
The only other bit of information I can provide is that when I open the sound options, its only giving me the option for speaker, not for headphone.
Whats the difference? Why can I not hear my video games? Why am I getting static from the front ports but not the back? Why cant I select headphones as my option like I had before?
Thanks for the help guys and gals, I appreciate it!!!!
