So recently my pc's case fan (maxwell blackhawk case) started making a noise as if there was a wire getting scraped by it, so I took the front of my case off (its the front fan, the top one) and I just touched the center of it for a second. That fixed it but I noticed there was a crack on it. so I went on as normal and then when I started my pc up another day it happened again but this time touching it did nothing. The fan still moves and sometimes makes no noise but once the cover is put back on
it starts to sound like a war movie.

here's an image of it

Replace the fan, absolutely. Keep in mind they rotate at very high speeds. Anything that unbalances this, is going to not just sound awful, it's going to get worse with time, and possibly fall apart entirely (and low possibility but might send parts flying into your case with all the sensitive expensive parts). Fans are cheap, remove immediately, and in the meantime get a new one, and install once it arrives. But do not wait on removal of current one.

Yeah its a rosewill. I guess ill just buy a new case fan

but how in the world did the thing crack? the only time I touched it was to see if it would stop and thats it. How could it crack? the fan below the one thats rattling is also cracked but making no extra noise.
