Question Front Fan Vents: Direct vs Side

I've noticed that a number of cases, like the Corsair 100R and the Cooler Master Silencio series cases have the air intake/exhaust vents for the front fans as thin horizontal strips on the left and right sides of the fans instead of larger vents directly in front of the fans. I would think that these horizontal strips wouldn't be able to exhaust as much air as regular front-facing vents, but I'm a little unsure because it seems like there are a number of cases which sport these horizontal strip vents. Do these horizontal strip vents have any impact, or much of an impact on cooling?

you have more cooling option in the 100r from front to back and top the side vent you see are intake vent for front fan ,witch parts you gone put in this and did you intend to overclock .
