[SOLVED] Front microphone jack no longer working

Hi, not sure if this is the right place to post this but essentially my front mic jack has suddenly started producing an extremely loud and high pitched buzzing noise whenever it is plugged in, even if the mic itself is muted. When I use my spare mic the issue is the same. The rear jack works fine but I'd rather not use that one if possible.

My windows updated today so I wonder if its to do with that, but the fact that the rear jack works makes me think it might not be to do with that. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If the issue happened after a Windows update you should be able to roll-back the update and see if that fixes the issue. Past that, it would be a hardware issue with the jack so need to actually look at it and possibly replace it.
