I have an Asus P8B 75-M LX motherboard. I want to connect my front panel audio to it, but the pins I have do not match the ones described in the manual. What I have is a 2pin S-L, a 2pin S-R, a 1pin MIC BIAS, and a 1-1pin MIC IN and GND (attached together) labeled connectors. And here is a link to my mobo's user manual: http://imageshack.us/f/194/jc38.jpg/ this is completely different! What do I do?
Thanks!

Your audio is the AC'97 type, also you need download the "Front panel audio header pinouts" from intel for reference.
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/cs-015851.htm

Now you need connect; (AC'97)
1) 1pin MIC IN to the #1 pin (in your MB is the MIC2).
2) 1pin MIC BIAS to the #3 pin (MICPWR).
3) 2pin S-L to the #9/#10 pins (line out L).
4) 2pin S-R to the #5/#6 pins (line out R).
5) GND to the #2/#4 pins.

Thanks for the early reply! However, I connected everything as you described, and yet, my PC does not seem to recognize anything plugged into the jacks. Also, I only have 1 pin GND, so I can only connect it to #2 (it's attached to the MIC IN pin, which is #3, so no problem - in theory at least), and you described 2 pin GND. The reference shows only 1 pin GND too though.
Does the 2 pin S-L and S-R's orientation matters? Which pin goes where? I tried both ways, still nothing....

If you have only one pin for the GND then only connect to the #2, plug MIC IN to the #1. Sorry I were misunderstandng.

You need plug MIC BIAS to the #3 which is for the power. If you don't plug in it with the MIC BIAS then you don't power the audio so that is nothing happened.

For the S-L/S-R you need try the orientation because one is audio signal to front panel and other is audio signal return from front panel , because I don't see those connector.

MIC BIAS was always in #3, yet nothing. If the orientation on S-L/S-R isn't right, I get no signal at all?
If I posted a picture with the cables so you can see their colors, would that make things better?😀 (-update- I see now that the 2 cables in S-L are both white, and S-R's are both red, so i guess not...:/)
And btw I needed to set up RC'97 in the BIOS, so it wouldn't go for HD audio, but I did that already.
