Hello I 've got an issue. I am trying to get front panel audio to work. I opened the case and I found the place where the 9 pins of the front panel should be connected, and -guess what!- it did not have any pins on it... Then, I found some unplugged pins into the case but there is a problem here: they are only 5 pins!: 1 Audio2_L, 1 Audio2_R, 1 Audio_Ground and 1 Mic2 and another one..... I guess they are dedicated to the front panel audio, because the wire which contains them all comes from that the front panel region of the pc. I need your help!

System:
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-G41MT-D3
PC Case Sunbeamtech Trio

There should be an output for your front cable on the soundcard. If there is none then plugging the cable into the mobo will do no good as you can only run one sound card at a time (without conflicts). Look for a compatible plug from the front panel on your case and plug it into the soundcard.

If you are using the native audio chip on the mobo you have the same target: look for compatible pin outs that are ID'd in the mobo manual as audio and pluc the front panel pins into the pinouts.

take a look at this
http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-g41mt-d3_e.pdf
that is your mobos manual

also this is your specs
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3476#sp

they are saying that there is a front panel audio header
also that the mobo has HD audio
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3476#sp

i am sorry that I cant look at the mobo PDF file since I am on a Wireless-G wifi connection right now and is really hard to view your mobo manual

but I hope I helped

also BTW I have run a Asus Xonar DG soundcard in a couple of towers (Dell and custom)
and there is no conflicts with running both a soundcard and onboard sound at same time
just need to go into sound panel under control panel and select your devices

if your mobo doesnt support the front panel then consider the Asus Xonar DG as a cheap alternative
can find it on Newegg USA for under $40 usually
has HD and AC'97 front panel headers with customizable headphone amp
great card for the money

Hello again! after a while i am near the solution to this problem. I found <a href="http://www.sunbeamtech.com/faq/trio_faq01/trio_faq03.htm">this</a> and <a href="download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-g41mt-d3_e.pdf">this</a>. Could anyone help me?

P.S.: I am also able to see the internals of the front panel (the other side of the wires which I have to plug into my mobo).
