There is audio from the front panel headset jack on my case (Lian Li LanCool II Mesh Performance), just hum and static.
The rear panel audio works fine.
Checked and reset the case's front panel headset cable to the motherboard pins several times, no joy.
HD Audio Controller is enabled in the BIOS (rev 3002).
Realtek Audio driver updated to the latest available on the ASUS web site, version 6.0.9411.1.
"Disable front panel jack detection" set to off in the Realtek Audio Control application.
ASUS offered to RMA the motherboard, but I'd rather not if there is another solution.
Any suggestions?

What type of headset is this and what type of plug does it have. The case is designed for a TRRS plug

and if you don't have one you will need an adapter.

The case has a combined audio & mic headset jack, TRRS. I purchased a Y splitter to break out the mic and headphones separately. But the headphones are not detected nor do they work.
