Front panel M5a 78l mlx

I got a green light to the mother board and Im pretty sure I didnt connect my front panel right I got it to boot up once but I saw smoke and turned it off.

Trying again after a while of it just sitting just really want to play I misplaced my pcie connectors and I was wondering if I could run a 6990 with a single pcie 8 pin connector.I got a 5570 2 gb card on stand by.

Id really like to know if my motherboard is messed up because Ive been trying to save for a new one.......

I know it wasnt the thermal paste because my friend re did it after.

Anyone have a picture on how to do this board right on the front panel?

I have Wolfshadw the lay out is a bit confusing I see that msi boards the lable is pointed down wards but this one is left to right.I know its simple but its been nothing but a head ache for me.I dont think its the case.But I have gotten it to boot up before but thank you for the speedy reply.
