A few months ago my front panel audio and mic jacks were working perfectly. I hadn't been able to use the computer for a few months due to some personal issues, and now my mic jack is no longer working properly. Windows is recognizing that the mic is plugged in, and the "Listen to this device" feature plays back whatever I say into the mic, but in any applications like Skype, I can select the mic as the device to use, but it does not pick up any sound.
What can be causing this? It's a hassle to have to disconnect my speakers and plug the headset into the rear just to use it.
