Front panel mobo connections, help needed.

Hi guys, currently in the process of my first ever build and was hoping one of you could clarify something for me with regards to the m connector that MSI uses to install the pc's front panel connections. I've managed to connect the HD led, power and reset connections but am having trouble with the power LED connection.

As shown in the picture below there are two connections for the power LED, +p LED and -p LED. But as shown in the second image there is only one PLED pin so I'm not quite sure where to put the two connections? The only thing I can think of is to put them in FP PWR/SLP connections shown in the third image, does anyone know the solution to this?

Yes, they go on the PLED terminals. You'll have to check your MB manual to see which is + and - depending on how the adapter plugs into the FP header.

Hi Clutch, thanks for your reply. The problem I'm having is that there is only one PLED terminal/pin on the m connector meaning I can only put one of the connectors on. The MB I have is the MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING. I've looked at the manual and the image it shows is different to what I have. The manual shows the two power LED connectors joined together as one, not 2 separate ones that I have.

This is where it gets confusing. The MB gives you the option of a std power light connection, or one that works in conjunction with sleep mode. I presume it will flash when in sleep mode. If you wire it like the last picture you sent, the LED will be used as a sleep mode indicator. Can you get a clear closeup of the JFP1 header on the MB? Is there any markings on the MB for which wires go where?

Page 1-26 in your MB manual shows where the wires go. Just use that as a guide. Or leave the adapter off and plug the wires directly into the header. JFP1 is where all your FP wiring should go. JFP2 will only be used for the buzzer.

The little m connector manual that was supplied was quite confusing as it was a different m connector in their diagrams to the one they supplied with my mobo. I switched two of the cables around and everything seems to be working fine, thanks for your help, very appreciated.
