Hi, I recently connect my phone cable to the front USB and then it burns at the end of the cable(I guess that the cable was bad). After that, I can't use the front usb even I switch to other Port on the motherboard. FYI I also tried other front panel USB.

MOBO : Asrock H61M-vs3
OS: Win7 Ultime 32bit

Solution
The connector, wire, and/or USB plugs in the front panel connector were likely damaged. I would recommend not using this interface. You could damage your motherboard.

You can disconnect and ignore, get a replacement part for your case, get a new case, or get a generic front panel type replacement device. Up to you and how much you want to spend.

Good luck!

I have tried the Mobo on the other casing but the front USB are still malfunction. Could it be the motherboard has been damaged. If it so, I check on the device manager but there is no unusual sign or whatsoever and all USB are in good condition.

Device manager may not show the problem as you have multiple USB headers on most motherboards. It will show good in Windows as long as the USB controller is working. I assume you back panel USB ports (the ones on the back of your system) still work.

Yes, the back panel USB ports are still working but I need the front USB to work because I only got 4 USB port on the back and it is not enough :)
