Frustrating sound and wireless issues.

I have two major issues with a used Asus G51VX I just purchased. It came with Windows 7 installed but there was an issue where the seller had somehow turned off the audio but couldn't remember where/how. I tried rolling back the drivers and uninstalling/reinstalling them, both from Asus' website and the audio manufacturer's site. I tried adjusting settings in BIOS, various fixes I found online, I made sure nothing was muted anywhere and still no go. The computers start up sound will play so I know the speakers themselves work. I can also use headphones and hear everything. The speakers themselves just won't work for Windows.

I've talked to both MS support and Asus support. An Asus tech agent had me do a recovery installed of Windows 7, some of the recovery files were corrupt however and I was unable to reinstall Windows 7. Instead I installed the original Vista OS. Problem is the issue is still present and I've still had no luck fixing it.

Now a new issue has popped up. When W7 was installed the laptop connected to the internet fine and worked well other than the audio issue. For some reason though the wireless won't work in Vista. I can connect to routers (I've tried multiple routers and ensured they were working by connecting with other laptops) but there is no connection from the router to the internet. I've done everything MS support had me do to fix the issue and they won't help me anymore unless I purchase their "premium support" for $100. I plan on talking to Asus support again but I thought it would be a good idea to get some input from others. Maybe someone has had similar issues

Hello, about windows vista wireless, you need the driver for the wireless to work, since windows vista doesnt bring the driver like windows 7 does. I believe its all about the drivers including the sound problems, but could you be more specific.

I have fully updated the laptop through Windows Update and manually installed the most recent wireless and LAN drivers. (according to the Asus and Realtek websites where I manually installed the drivers.)

Ok, the wireless issue was fixed, it was a faulty driver that wasn't being detected. I still have the audio issue however.
