I am using FS on a laptop. Are there alternative keyboard
shortcuts for elevator trim bsince I do not have a
numbers keypad.

1. You do have an embedded keypad if you would just RTM for
your laptop computer.
2. You might try a USB external keyboard.
3. If you plug in a USB joystick you can "assign" two of
its buttons to elevator trim - this is very common.
4. You can also "assign" keys on your laptop to various
flight simulator actions and functions.
