FSB 1066 to 1333

Hi,


I've got this problem with my E2180 on this motherboard (http://www.mercury-pc.com/product-spec.php?productid=766)


The problem i have is the PC overclocks from FSB 800 to 1066 without a problem and touching 50*C only at full load but when i increase the FSB from 1066 to 1333 in the BIOS , the computer just shutsdown.


My MOBO Bios has got some extra Function the "Frequency/Voltage Control" tab

I didnt try it with other Voltages cause I'm not a experienced Overclocker. So i thought i would take some advice before i try something stupid or if it succeeds "amazing".

This the memory data transfer rate setting, not the system FSB setting.

Its not what I said . Its what i wrote exactly from my BIOS "FSB 1066"

what speed is your memory runnint at?
what speed is your memory default?

Is there a way i can upload my whole CPU txt here?

You can download CPUz and it will tell you what your memory is running at. Multiply that number by 2 to get the DDR2 speed.

It sounds like your memory is causing the instability, because it is being overclocked.

You should do incremental increase, instead of jumping from 1066mhz - 1333mhz FSB. Try 1100mhz, boot into your OS, check what memory and CPU speed you have, check what your voltages are. Do stability testing, before continuing on.

Alot of 2180s I've had only like to go to 320 or 330FSB back it down a tad.

The problem with my mobo is the features for overclocking is limited.


And the CPU BSEL has only 4 Options - 533,800(Default),1066,1333 . I cannot increase it like after 1066 I can't try 1100 I have to go all the way to 1333 and can't increase my Multiplier either.


Another thing about my MOBO is it supports Core 2 Quads too and the reason why the option FSB 1333 is even available. http://www.mercury-pc.com/product-spec.php?productid=766


And the Voltage available.Same here i cant go from 1.85 to 1.86, I can only go from 1.85 to 1.95

I have complete control over changing my RAM timings though.

If you think its the 512 MB memory I can get a another 2 GB with exact specifications. Temperatures are absolutely are not a issue here. 1066 on MAX LOAD goes to 54 * C. Very Stable at 1066 but wont even attemplt 1666.

BTW my PSU is Mercury AP 2400 - 385w
