I am currently trying to OC my 965 BE. Out of nowhere when using my multiplier in the bios (GA 990fxa-ud3) it only overclock one core. So I decided to use the fsb. I'm running at 225mhz (around 3.82ghz). I upped the voltage of cpu to 1.475 (default for me) Nb from 2000 too 2600 (from 1.1v to 1.1250.) and ht link from default too 2200. (don't think I touched these voltages) my question is, should I keep messing with the fsb until I get to my ideal 4ghz by messing with voltages. Or try to get the multiplier to not only overclock one core. I lowered the ram from 1600 to 1333. Running at 1500 with fsb OC. Anything over 230 fsb gave me BSOD.

Solution
That is the same vcore I have my 965BE at with a 20 multiplier. But you may want to lower the multiplier for the HT and memory and NB since they also work off the same clock. Unless they are stable with those high numbers. But bringing them back to default values may allow you to raise the buss a bit more.

Unless you are pretty well up on OC'ing, here is a tutorial to go along with AOD: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCAQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fsites.amd.com%2Fus%2FDocuments%2FAMD_FX_Performance_Tuning_Guide.pdf&ei=fvhwVLLIM6-BsQS7toHIAg&usg=AFQjCNGS8w4ELNvvU1qNs6H1UJKEYe3F9g&sig2=7mZLljq5e9pNN79PmkIntA&bvm=bv.80185997,d.cWc
You won't get 4GHz with the FSB (Hyper Transport). And you will have to lower the multiplier on every other thing that runs off the FSB anyway. I'd suggest you find out what's wrong with the BIOS settings that it only allows 1 core to be OC'd. I have my PhIIX4 965BE stable at 4 GHz with just the multi and a small vcore increase.

Is CPU Core Control still set on automatic? Which revision of that board do you have?

Core control is set to automatic. C1e is off, Svm off, cool and quiet is off, and core unlock is disabled. It used to oc all cores. Idk what happened. It'sRev 4. Version F2 most recent. I even reflashed it.

Core temp shows only core 0 at the respected frequency. And cpuz if you right click also shows only the first core OC'd. That's with the multiplier. With fsb. All four are running at 3.82. If I'm not mistaken core unlock is disabled by default. The other one, core something is on automatic. It shows 1 core per processor 2, 3, etc. That one is set to automatic.

What are you running to stress the CPU? If it is something single threaded, the other cores may not increase if you have C&Q enabled and Windows Power set to balanced.

I used prime95 for around 30min at 225 fsb 3.8cpu. Ran no problem. People say run prime for 24 hours but I didn't that's ideal for me. Cool and quiet is off and Windows is set to balanced. 230 fsb bsod. Both CPU programs show the cpu at a constant 3.82ghz as well. With the multiplier it was 4.0, 3.4, 3.4, 3.4

Just to clarify, rollback FSB to 200, Up the multipier to let's say 19, so 3.8Ghz, then double check Overdrive and not CPUZ or Core temp. Also, in the bios, With the multiplier it shows, All cores running at a constand 4GHZ, but Core temp and CPUZ beg to differ, Trust BIOS reading or?

Ahhh... more information to digest.
Yes, roll back your changes (save them to a save slot in BIOS if you want) and just increase the multiplier one click for the test. Say... 18. Let's see if AOD reports that all 4 cores have increased. You can run anything you want for a quick stress test. Even the built-in one in AOD.

Word. Did it, set everything in BIOS to "Auto" including voltages and what not (for tests sake) Multiplier is set to 19 (3.8GHZ) and AMD OD is registering #1 at 3.8, #2 at 3.4 and so forth for 3 and 4. It also shows the multiplier for 2 3 and 4 at x17 not x19 like the first core shows.

Well... there's not much more I can think of other than a defective BIOS or MB. It won't accept a multi increase on all cores for some reason. Have you tried it after a BIOS reset (jumper and battery)?
Was it like this before the BIOS flash you did?

Let's see, I did reset the jumper, not the battery. This issue is what led me to reflash and jumper, So that being said, It did work. Just not anymore. I might just stay with the FSB at 225, 3.8 on the CPU Isn't TERRIBLE. Any recommended Voltages? My auto for CPU is 1.4750, NB Core is 1.1v, HT I think is 1.2. I also underclock the ram to 1336 so with FSB 225 it's at 1498.
