FSB or Processor?

Hi. I'd like to know when you have the highest performances.
When you overclock the FSB, or when you overclock the processor's frequency?

For example, I have the choice between running a k6-II 400
@ 500mhz FSB at 100 or
@ 448mhz FSB ar 112.

simple answer...benchmark both settings  . ok, seriously, i think (correct me if i'm wrong) there is 64k internal full speed cache on die and 512k on the board running at the fsb speed. a higher clock speed will make the 64k run faster, but a higher fsb would make the memory and 512k run faster. my guess is that the higher memory and 512k cache speed would result in higher performance. the opposite is true with the k6-III. since it has 320k on die cache running at clock speed, a higher clock speed would give it more performance than a higher bus speed. that's just my opinion, i could be wrong...

Ah. Well thanks for your advice. Me too, I do believe that the FSB overclock is better.

Hey,

FSB is better unless you have a larger on-die cache.
