Ok so the exact thing I am trying to install is a K+DCAN usb cable. Yesterday I was convinced that it was a bad cable since no drivers would install regardless of where they came from. Today I tried the install on two other computers and it worked on both when I pointed the hardware to the driver manually. When I use that method on the one I want it on, I get the code 10 device cannot start error. In the device manager it lists it as FT232R USB UART device. After driver install it is supposed to read as a com serial port. It does read that way after pointing to manual driver but it has the error and the yellow symbol.

My computer is an XPS 14 Ultrabook. The other 2 are Dell Latitudes. All three are running Windows 7 64 bit. My computer has usb 3.0 ports and the other 2 have 2.0 ports.

I tried experimenting and turning on usb debug in the bios but that did nothing. All my USB drivers appear to be up to date. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't see anything about usb 3.0 drivers from any site. Not even ftdichip website.
