FUJITSU ESPRIMO E700 E85+ / 250 to 280W PSU and GTX 1050 Ti 4GB

One of my PCs has the following setup:

FUJITSU ESPRIMO E700 E85+
i5-2500
8GB RAM
SSD 240GB + 500GB HDD
250W PSU (max 280W for 20SEC)

I have in mind to turn it to a medium level gaming PC by installing a low profile GTX 1050 Ti 4GB LP and give it to a friend.

My questions:
1. The only suspicion is for the PSU watts. If it cannot sustain the GTX 1050 Ti what could happened? Only unsuspected system restarts or the PSU could exploded?

2. Once I have ready the setup, what I could do to be sure that the PC will work stable for gaming, in connection with the PSU? Maybe to run a benchmark/ stress test? What benchmark program you suggest?

Is this a SFF PC, desktop, or a tower? Look at the nameplate on the PSU. Total PSU watts mean very little. You need to find the capacity of the +12V rail. If you can't interpret it, post a pic of the nameplate. And which 1050 Ti are you interested in?

I have read lots of views about applying GTX 1050/GTX 750 LP cards inside SFF PC. I have listen an experience about a setup of SFF PC Lenovo m71e (i5 2400/HDD/SSD/1050 ti/240W PSU) with no issues and also you can find lots of youtube videos with SFF PCs + GTX 1050 ti.

I still not 100% sure what to do, I just try to understand what could be the worst scenario with a build like this (could the PSU to be exploded? or just unexpectedly restarts/ bsod etc? ).

Well, I decided to take a try with a GTX 1050 Ti on that Fujitsu.

I have a question: the mainboard is a D3061-A. You can see the specs here:

What does this paragraph means?

Maybe that the mainboard cannot give 12V @ PCI-E?

They are referring to the other voltages present on the PCIe slot. Your system is adequate for a GTX 1050 L-P card that requires no 6-pin. The PSU has a couple +12V rails that can each provide up to 15A at probably the full 250W capacity, since I don't see a disclaimer saying otherwise.

I have a Dell Optiplex 790 SFF from that same era (i5-2400) with a tiny 240W PSU sporting a single +12v rail rated for 17A. It has been running this GTX 1050 Ti fine for quite awhile now.

Update: I bought MSI GTX 1050 Ti 4GB LP today and installed it on my FUJITSU ESPRIMO E700 E85+ SFF PC.
I play Rise of the Tomb Raider in Ultra settings @ Full HD for an hour, with no issues.

Also I ran some benchmarks, again with no issues. :)

Excellent. The advent of the GTX 1050 Ti has turned a lot of otherwise-useless older PCs into halfway decent 1080p gamers.
Be sure to keep an eye on CPU, GPU, and board temps for awhile to be sure the extra heat-producing device in that confined area doesn't cause system over-heating. You probably notice the CPU and gfx card fans being a bit louder now, I imagine.

Another basic question.
GTX 1050 Ti has an average score of 5729 points @ PassMark

But my own, after the finalize of PassMark v9 test, I get only ~4050 points:

Do I miss something? This result is even lower than GTX 1050 non Ti (4380 average score).

Maybe I have to do any check on the BIOS? Or maybe the cause is that I ran the card in PCI-E 2nd Gen slot? :)

Don't go by just one benchmark. Passmark isn't that dependable anyway (IMO). And the final result will also depend on the CPU used and the rest of the system. They were using PCIe 3.0, not 2.0 like you have. And do you know the CPU they were using? I suspect they had a high-end platform compared to your basic sff PC.

I saved some benchmarks I've done in the past. One rig that is similar to yours is a Dell Optiplex 790 SFF with a i5-2400 and Zotac GTX 1050 Ti L-P. If you want, run Firestrike (free). PM me so we don't fill this post with too much.
