I dont think thats possible... i dont know a bunch about it but you will need to google that to find it.
Are CPUs on laptops usually swappable? Not that I know of. Further, a mobile version of a 64bit intel might need a new motherboard. I don't really know... yet I highly doubt that you will be able to do what you are thinking of. Of course I could be wrong as I don't really have experience with that - someone else want to pipe in here? Worth a google search, though. Let us know what you find.
On a positive note, you simply do not NEED 64-bit right now. I wouldn't worry about it until a year from now at the earliest as 64bit is still being slowly phased in. When Windows Longhorn launches in spring 2006, which will be 64bit, then it will be time to seriously consider... and even then you could probably hold out for a while longer, until near the end of '06.
Your current system will run you just fine for a while. So do not worry too much about it.
