So I just got myself an Alienware area 51 and it just came in the mail. Now I'm upgrading from my asus g750jx, and had two external hard drive for the laptop. Now that I got this laptop I decided to take the external hard drives apart so I can get the hdd and put it into the desktop. Now I was able to do that, but the problem is that my 4.56 tb drives gets formatted and only showed 576 gb. I'm not sure why this is happening. This is the external hard drive that I took apart that is giving me headaches.

Any solution to this problem?

Hey there, nokiafan.

Does the drive still show the correct capacity when connected to the external enclosure? I'd recommend that you try it with a different computer as well, to see if the same thing happens. Also, your HDD should use GPT and not MBR in order for the full capacity of the drive to be recognized. Would you please post a screenshot of what you see about the drive in Disk Management?
