Question Full screen mode on any game causes my 1440p monitor to run things at 4k

Heres the problem:
I run any game on true full screen and it forces my monitor ( 1440p 270hz monitor ) to run at 4k 144hz
I make it fullscreen borderless and it returns to the original settings
is there a way to stop this from constantly happening?
I tried using DDU to remove and reinstall drivers, downloading and updating monitor firmware, changing nvidia settings to try and force 1440p
but nothing works...

Hey there,

Try reset the monitor from the monitor menu.

Let us know if that works.

1440p screens do not usually accept 4k signal.
Your monitor looks like some weird exception.
It accepts 4k signal and internally down-scales it to 1440p.

Only thing you can do is
specify desired resolution in game settings.

Have you tried different video inputs on your monitor?
It has DP and 2x HDMI inputs.
