My first built! Sorry If I've placed this in the wrong place. This is pretty much to show off my build and get some feedback
First off, in no way do I consider myself to be an expert in PC components. Just an extreme enthusiast.
I'll start by explaining why I picked all the parts I did.
The case. A LOT of people seemed quite upset that I picked such an expensive case. The reason I got this case was for the space and the fact that I'll be water cooling in the near future. The reason I haven't water cooled just yet is because I'm waiting untill I can afford another Sapphire 7970 (I'll explain why I'm getting another one below) . I'll be sending the panel off to the moders to get a window put in some point soon. (payday lol)
The motherboard. I won't go on to much about this as I don't know much about motherboards, however after A LOT of research, I tried my best to pick out a motherboard that would fit my budget and specs I needed as much as possible. Build for water cooling and overclocking the CPU. Couldn't be happier with it. Also, it fit's the color scheme.
The CPU. Probably the one component I did the most research on. I chose this for the Hyper-Threading. I couldn't be happier! Seeing as this build isn't just for gaming but work and an enthusiastic amount of video editing, Photoshop and messing about with Ableton Live, I thought I'd get the best CPU I could with my budget.
The memory. Not much to say. 16GB Corsair Vengeance at 1600. I'll be overclocking at some point in the future along with other components. Also fits the color scheme.
The GPU. Like the CPU I spent a lot of time researching what was right for me. Even though I have a 144Hz 3D monitor and knew 3D wouldn't be the best with Radeon, price to performance wise I believe it to be better than some 670, 680's. I know I'll probably get hounded for saying that, but that's how I feel. Also because BF4 will favour Radeon. I also got this GPU because I don't care about 3D in the slightest while gaming. I'm an FPS freak and the more FPS with the highest graphics enabled the better. I'll be getting a second with crossfire very soon.
The PSU. Wanted a modular, semi-modular PSU that I knew would be reliable.
The SSD. I understand this isn't the fastest. However I know for a fact it's a solid and reliable choice and for the price I paid for it, it was a bargain. In a week or so I'll be getting a couple of Samsung 840 Pro's. I will place my OS on on of them and use this M4 as something else.
So as I said, this build will be used for gaming, work and an enthusiastic amount of editing and rendering! I couldn't be happier with it even though It took me 8 hours from start to finish lol but hey, it was my first build. As I said, nothings overclocked yet, as I don't feel the need. But that'll soon change!
I have got a slight problem with sound however. There seems to be a moderately loud hissing/whining sound that comes every 30 seconds or so for about 5-10 seconds. It's really bugging me. Initially I thought It was a fan but after inspecting a little closer I realised it wasn't.
H100? Do any of you have experience with this cooler and problems associated with it?
