Question Full tower case and external bay dilemma

I need a full Tower (currently using Coolmaster Cosmos 1000. I can see lots of good cases but no external slots. Need to use an optical drive, so, what is the solution? External optical drive? Assuming these are USB, a
re these good?

Where are you located, what is your preferred site for purchase and what are you looking to stuff inside the case, alongside the form factor?

I'd have said Fractal Design's Define R5 but that might change once you state additional information.

I know I want a full tower and have planned all my parts EXCEPT the optical drive. So, my original question is to do with the Optical drive solution only. I am in UK and source parts from various online suppliers. I also plan to build a X570 MB with 3800X CPU and 32Gb ram.
