Hi to all, this is my first post.

Eight months ago I bought an ATI Radeon 9000.
I needed a VGA card for 2D and DVDs, DivX videos, MPEGs... (I have a 2th PC under my TV, only for video playing)...for this use I have chosen the 9000 instead of 7000 because the publicized FULLSTREAM feature.
When I bought the video card, the fullstream was supported only by a special version of Realplayer , but I was confident for better future support.

There was much hype about future divx support, future more real time effects than deblocking etc etc...

Now, seem that 9000's fullstream features bas been forgotten. :-(

ATI's drivers claims to support Fullstream in DivX player...but only
for 9500/9600/9700/9800 series (DX9 video cards) !
So has ATI forgotten 9000's users ? Do they have publicized an inesistent
feature ? If I had know this, I would saved my money...

Or will it be supported later ? BUT is it acceptable wait more than EIGHT
MONTHS to have all functions enabled ?

I wrote to ATI, but I have not obtained any response... :-((((((
Any suggestion ?

Thanks to all, and sorry for my bad english

Try the Rage3d Boards. Seems some ATi staff visits there forums. Also search around never know if there any 3rd party Apps.

This is pretty typical ATI stuff. Reminds me of the open GL promises from way back.

Actually FullStream DOES work on the R9000 (it works on my R9000non-pro), so your title is misleading. However there may or may not be support from the boys at DIVX.com
ATI NEVER said that there would be support for it when the R9000 came out. There is only guaranteed support for it with the ATI File Player. The support from RealNetworks was the early agreement, and the support from the guys at DIVX was a bonus (it wasn't added until much later), and ATI may have stated that there will be support for fullstream from the guys at DIVX to come later (which there is) but I doubt they ever specified which cards. So really you should ask the guys at DIVX.COM, cause they are the ones who chose which cards to support. I KNOW it works on my R9600P, never tried it on the R9000 (in another rig).

BTW, WindowsMediaPlayer support is coming and is already partially availible on the OMEGA drivers (don't know for which cards though).
