Function keys don't work in LightRoom software

Using a photo editing software program called LightRoom on a Toshiba laptop with Windows 10. Supposedly the software has different actions for each of the function keys, however they don't work... nothing happens. Wondering if Toshiba software or setup in the problem. One web site mentioned that you need to go into the Bios to change the operation of the function keys. Any ideas??? Thanks.

Normally.... do the Function keys require you to HOLD the Fn Key + the F key to work?

Some systems, Toshiba included, sometimes have the Function key action reversed in the BIOS.. Look there

What are you wanting the function keys to do?
On a typical Win system, in Lightroom,
F7 toggles the left sidebar on/off
F8 toggles the right sidebar
F6 toggles the bottom preview bar.

Possibly you have to turn on Fn keys on your laptop?
