Hi all,

Getting depressed :(
First time in a while that I update my kit, and opted for a new MOBO and CPU.

Problem is that no matter what I try, I get no output on monitor, and "VGA" LED on the MOBO.

Full kit:
CPU : Ryzen7 5800X (new)
MOBO : NZXT N7 B550 got the issue first, figured it may be the MOBO not working, so purchased ROG STRIX B550-F, but same issue. (new)
GPU : RTX 2080 (old)
PSU: COUGAR power 700 CGR B2-700 (old)
RAM : Vengeance LPX - DDR4 (new as previous RAM were incompatible)

Tried to :
  • CMOS
  • BIOS Update
  • Boot with strict minimum (GPU and 1 RAM only, that I tried on all sockets, not even the CPU cooler)
  • GPU on both PCI-E
  • Plugged monitors with both HDMI and DP
Figured I need the CPU plugged, as the ryzen does not have a graphic int.

Any idea?

Thanks !

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

As you state changing the motherboard/platform, you're recylcing your older OS drive?

PSU: COUGAR power 700 CGR B2-700 (old)
How old is the unit?

RAM : Vengeance LPX - DDR4 (new as previous RAM were incompatible)
Got a link to the ram kit? Also, which slots are the rams populating on the motherboard?

Update : I purchased a new PSU 850W and it worked like a charm (even surprised that I didn't have even to install Windows!)

So for a weird reason, indeed the PSU was not power enough / too old ?
