about 5 minutes ago i realized that when i put my computer back together i put my tower fan on backwasrds. this means that the fan was sucking air into the tower. anyway i was like wtf. so i was too lazy to turn off the power of my comp. lol. so i took a screw driver and took the side off and then preceded to take the fan off. that s when my hand slipped. slipped right in to the spinning fan i was removing. it instantaneously broke of one of the fan blades lol. now the stupid thing is off balanced cuz it is missing a blade and vibrates like a mother f***er. well the moral of the story is dont repair your computer while it is turned on... the cost of the moral $25(the price of a new fan)...

Yeah I have, and I do in fact feel that the Nvidia onboard is a little "crisper" than my Audigy however, I use my Live Drive quite extensively. That is the only reason I still use my Audigy. If it was just the card alone I would have nixed it.

Why? There's not enough of a quality difference to justify it. I mean, how many people are going to sit down with a set of Sennheiser headphones in a noiseless environment and be able to tell the difference? Don't get me wrong, I'd like to have the Audigy 2, but my Audigy does exactly what I need it to do at a high quality. Besides, anything that I do gets downsampled to 16-bit when burned to a CD so it doesn't make that much of a difference in the long run, IMO.

Another one: I was replacing a controller on a Sun server and not paying attention accidentaly stuck my finger in the CPU fan. Still have a scare and I suppose some of the blood is still inside the chassis. DOH!

I Use BOSE Quiet Triport headphones (wish I had gotten the quiet comfort for when I fly) for my editing rig, my Sennheiser HDs suck in somparison and so they sit on my mp3 player, and I use Labtec Elites for gaming.

I prefer The Audigy sound to my on board, but it isn't an nForce solution (I'm going to see what comes with my socket 939 board) but likely I'll get an Audigy 2ZS for my next rig. But if you're REALLY interested in audio quality NOTHING beats an RME solution IMO, and if I were rebuilding my editing rig, that's what I'd use. The Audigy can't be beat for strictly gaming concerns.

That's my two frames worth.

When I first built my editing rig, I once closed the side panel door, and the blow hole fan power wire rubbed up against on of the the CPU fans (dual/CPU-0 in fact), made a God awfule noise, and I almost yanked the door of with my reaction. Made me appreciate tying-down/tidying-up lose power cables.
