Question Furmark gives me very low fps with GPU 3070 (laptop)

At 7 FPS. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers with DDU, it was ok for one day and then back to <10 fps.
I noticed the problem when I downloaded kcd 1. Graphics card would try to run it at ultra high settings even though i was only getting 7 fps. It went up to 60fps when i reinstalled the drivers for a while and then the next day back <10 fps.
Any ideas?

We're going to need a little more info. Please pass on the make, model and SKU to your laptop.

If you're using DDU, are you removing all GPU drivers(intel, AMD and Nvidia) in Safe Mode? Once that's done are you manually installing the latest GPU driver in an elevated command?

I downloaded from Steam. I have played games in the past with no issues.

Yes I removed all drives through DDU and reinstalled the drivers through Nvidia Geforce experience. If this is what you mean by "elevated command"

Furmark is an extremely intense GPU stress test and laptops are often limited by their cooling capability.
It isn't a good combination.
Furmark is not something you want to knowingly leave running for long periods of time, especially on a laptop.
Seriously, Furmark has been known to cause damage from overheating components.
If it was left running for a long period of time, you may have baked your thermal paste and the system is thermal throttling more than usual as a result.

If that were the case then the igpu would be listed beside the 3D Renderer category instead of the 3070 in the score results above.

It is the Nvidia Gpu being used. I even changed it in the Nvdia control panel. Yes plugged into power

try using a older driver and see if it fixes it nvidias drivers are spotty atm.

But use a benchmark suite or a game, instead of a stress test like Furmark.
