Future CPu upgrade Help - Do i rebuy windows?

hey. i was thinking about upgrading my CPu some time soon. at the moment i have an athlon x4 760k Oced to 4.5ghz which is doing just fine. however i feel as if with next gen games coming out it may struggle a little in games with the r9 270x i plan to get this christmas. i will probably have to wait a while as after i buy the GPu ( which is probably the right choice as gaming is mainly GPu ) i will have to save up again. i was thinking an FX-8320 and a MSI 990Fx-GD65 for AM3+. if i do this will i need to buy windows again also? i have OEm widnows in my PC at the moment and i heard changing the mainboard makes it so windows no longer works and needs to be reinstalled. anyways, thanks for the help to anyone who answers this

That is correct. OEM operating systems are tied to the motherboard and are, as such, single use (the downside to the cheap price). So definitely factor in a new OS with your upgrades.

You're right. Sadly, if you have an OEM copy of Windows, said copy is tied to your motherboard and won't work on another one so, yes, you will have to buy another copy.

Windows 7 and older, yes. Windows 8, no. OEM copies of windows 8 can be transferred, but can only be installed on 1 pc at a time. Even with 8 you may have/want to reinstall to get it to run properly.
